Little lights, Paul Smith Space x Tin Man Art, Feb 14-April 20, 25, curated by Nico Kos Earl
Weekend news, I’m super chuffed to have been invited to the show “Little Lights” at Paul Smith Space. It’s a collaboration with @tin.man.art, @ktheller and feted curator @nicokos at the helm. I’ve eight works there, some large, some small - in a whirlwind finishing up/wrapping today.

Private view Thursday Feb 13 6-8pm (Performance by @orlandoseale 7-8pm)
Open: Feb 14-April 20
Kos Earl: "When Tin Man Art first introduced us to the work of Chloe S Moncrieff for ‘little lights’ at Paul Smith Space with Katie Heller, we were charmed by her lucent, uplifting and fresh palette of springtime tones.
Speaking with the artist she shared a beautiful element of her process: 'I often write rough lines before I paint… ‘Of Nightfall’, for example, she had written ‘The curtains of darkness slammed shut. A figure crouched down, with flames kissing the cold, the moon soaking her corpulent coat, she feared the sparks the future alluded to.’
And in this work we see her poetic response to nature translated in delicate, undulating, mesmeric strokes. On completing her foundation at Winchester, she studied English literature; her practice has evolved through experimentation, and a toggle between words and images, including 3 months at the Royal Drawing School.
Of Awakening’ also in our show, she says, 'The seeds carried on the warm currents. Water emerged as growth reappeared, and with it meadows, fecundity and a reason for living.”
Heavens knows we all need good reasons for a fullness of living right now - her work is a reminder of the potent and restorative power of nature - it holds us, beguiles us, and lights us up."

Winsor & Newton x Jane Austen's House partnership
I was invited by Alton Arts Festival to lead a workshop at Jane Austen's House. Winsor & Newton kindly sponsored the event with beautiful brushes and paints for the students in July 24.
The workshop and my 12 students collaborated to create a painting inspired by Austen's garden on a large Winsor & Newton canvas (approx 150 x 110cm). It was then exhibited on the High Street. I hope Jane would approve.
